"X-mis(s) - March 2005"
On Wednesday the 2nd of March we got 23 cm (9") of snow
the record - 50 cm (18") for March was set in Heeg ( 25 mi NW of Vollenhove)
Two days later another record - 20.7C ( -5.26F ) was set in Marknesse ( 4 mi W of Vollenhove)
With all that snow I did grab my camera for some nice shots

D44 - D44b - This is a 'nice' smooth climb with the climbing skills of yesterday in our legs
From Villard Reculas-1417m to Huez-1366m a balcony road - D211b - with breathtaking views
which is ending just before hairpin 6 - D211

Only the '21' hairpins are on our list, the riding time over the 13 km climb
will give us an indication for the 'Marmotte' time - roughly factor 8 -
With my 1:30 I will be around 12 hours

Vénosc-930m - télécabine ( 10 min ) - Les Deux Alpes-1650m - Bourg d'Oisans-719m / Les Ougiers-861m
This is the easiest climb of this week ;) - from Les 2 Alpes-1650m it's a easy ride back to the hotel

Via Mizoën, you can climb the Col de Sarenne-1999m towards Alpe d"Huez (done in 2006 with Bram)

Friday - 8 July - no mileage - relax day - Hotel - Le Bourg d'Oisans by car
Final check bicycles, tires, tubes, brakes, etc.. - visit 'Bicycle' shop in Bourg

Saturday - 9 July - 'Marmotte' - did have 207 km on the meter totally this day
Up at 05:00am for breakfast - left hotel at 06:40am - 20 min ride - downhill - to Bourg d' Oisans
7000 participants - with our low numbers 1100's we were guided to our reserved Start Box
Offical start is at 07:15am - we passed the Start Line 07:20 am
I was at 21:00pm back at the hotel - 14:20 hrs on the road - tired, roasted.... but satisfied :)
