Mostly for my previews I use the last option - using Paint Shop Pro -
images are small - for uploading - and still oke for a good view and idea
Summary:
The image quality of the 6MP S3-IS is way better then the 4MP A520
Optical Zoom of 12X with the Image Stabilizer is also a great option
At the otherhand I had some difficulties with the automatic focus
One image is oke and the next at the same position is just out of focus
Will add some examples - see below -
The A520 is still a "handy" camera, as you can see on my "goodies" above
I like the compact size of the camera
A 2x telephoto converter, is for both camera's an optional feature
The best option is buying a S3-IS with teleconverter and keeping the A520 for nearby
Compatibility of the SD-card and NI-MH AA-batteries is another deal
